Overview

Alongside the Store Manager, implement the operational efficiency of the store and to deliver the Company Vision by:

  • Work collaboratively with the Manager to oversee and manage the sales, store team and overall running of the store
  • Driving and maximising the sales and profitability of the store to achieve core growth
  • Ensuring customers leave with the products they need following our expert advice
  • Delivering Company training within Company guidelines
  • Ensure all associates are deployed correctly to match the store deployment model
  • support the recruitment and motivation of all team members by managing performance effectively including training and development, coaching & addressing poor performance and recognising good performance
  • Responsibility for cash and stock controls
  • Deal with all Customer complaints in a calm and efficient manner in accordance with Company guidelines
  • Company uniform and dress code standards to be adhered to at all times

Examples of key activities

Meeting sales targets

  • Work to an action plan to achieve store sales targets
  • Monitor and review store performance on a regular daily, weekly and monthly basis and communicate this to all associates
  • Communicate information regarding store targets to the store team using the most appropriate means of communication
  • Maximise sales through effective merchandising and using the marketing materials (i.e. to promote special offers), H&B Loyalty Card and Healthy Magazine
  • Takes responsibility for all sales targets within the store in the Store Manager’s absence

Store Standards

  • Manage stock control including overseeing store deliveries and any poor quality issues;
  • Ensure the store is safely opened and fully prepared at the start of the day
  • Ensure that the store is left prepared at the end of the day ready for the next day’s opening
  • monitor product availability levels throughout the day and replenishing stocks to ensure 100% availability
  • Display products in line with guidelines from promotional bulletins

People Management

  • Support the manager to develop a committed, enthusiastic and informed store team
  • Provide on-the-job associate coaching and development
  • Assist in providing constructive performance feedback on an informal and formal basis
  • Maintain accurate staff records and complete relevant administration
  • Monitor associate holidays/absence/sickness and address and people issues quickly

Maintaining security and quality standards

  • Maintain a clear understanding of all relevant Health and Safety, legal requirements and ensure that all team members adhere to their responsibilities
  • Enforce good standards of appearance by adhering to the Company dress code policy
  • Ensure daily check books are completed and signed of correctly and stock date checks are recorded
