Staff and shoppers at Salford Shopping Centre were in high spirits on Saturday 1st July as Ceremonial Mayor, Councillor Peter Connor, officially launched the new Costa Coffee shop.

Cllr Connor cut the ceremonial ribbon and welcomed the coffee shop’s first customers, alongside centre manager at Salford Shopping Centre, Sabri Marsaoui and Costa store manager, Greta Albenova.

The much-anticipated store arrival has created XX jobs for local residents, as well as broadening the offer to local shoppers at Salford Shopping Centre, whose anchor stores currently include Argos, Boots and Wilko.

Sabri Marsaoui, Centre Manager, said: “We are delighted to welcome Costa to our close-knit community in Salford Shopping Centre.

“We always strive to attract exciting new retailers to the centre and the addition of a brilliant brand like Costa is great news for the centre. We wish Greta and her team the very best of luck.”

Greta Albenova, Store Manager at Costa, added: “We’re so pleased that Cllr Connor was able to join us and formally open our new store today. We are looking forward to embedding ourselves as part of the community in Salford and can’t wait for local residents to enjoy the Costa experience with us.”

The new store, which is situated on Pendleton Way in Salford Shopping Centre, will be open 7am to 6:30pm Monday to Saturday and 8am to 6pm on Sundays.

Cllr Connor said: “I am honoured to be opening this new Costa coffee shop. The new store has already created jobs for local people and it will now provide another reason for visitors to come to Salford Shopping Centre and take advantage of all that it has to offer.”
