Salford Shopping Centre announces shortlist for charity partner appeal
After launching an appeal to find a new local charity partner, Salford Shopping Centre has now announced the three charities who have been shortlisted ahead of a public vote via the centre’s Facebook page.
The chosen charity will benefit from 10 months of fundraising activity and support from the busy Salford Shopping Centre, which is home to eighty stores including Boots, Wilko, Home Bargains, Aldi, Iceland, Pure Gym and Costa, and welcomes over 135,000 shoppers each week.
To be considered, Salford based charities completed a simple form on the Salford Shopping Centre website. The three charities shortlisted are:
- Kidscan Children’s Cancer Research a Salford-based charity that funds and manages research into new and improved treatments for children with cancer
- Salford Survivor Project a local charity that was set up to raise awareness of domestic abuse and to give those affected by it some support and guidance.
- Salford Red Devils Foundation delivers sport, health and education-based activities throughout the Salford area with the aim to help people raise their aspirations.
The people of Salford are now able to cast their vote for their favourite charity via the centres Facebook page until midnight on Tuesday 28th May, with the winner announced later that week.
Salford Shopping Centre Manager Nick Pitt said ‘We have had a fantastic response to our charity partner appeal and would like to thank all of the charities who took the time to enter. It is fantastic to see such wonderful causes being supported locally. We wish the three charities shortlisted the best of luck in the public vote and look forward to announcing our new charity partner very soon.”
