After more than 800 votes were cast by Salford shoppers, the centre is delighted to announce that local charity, Salford Survivor Project, has been chosen as our ‘charity of the year’.
Salford Survivor Project is a volunteer run charity to help and support anyone who has been affected by domestic abuse, or abuse within the family. The charity aims to relieve the physical and mental distress of women and men who have been subject to domestic abuse, either at present or in the past.
Hannah Gregory, Project Manager at Salford Survivor Project, said: “We are so ecstatic and overwhelmed to be selected by the people of Salford to be the centres charity of the year.
“Our mission at Salford Survivor project is to empower and support those affected by domestic and family abuse. We provide a range of services including daily advice sessions, support groups, empowering courses, medical appointments with clients and support them by overcoming challenges and issues that abuse has caused. Thanks to this new partnership will be working as much as we can, to raise as much awareness through numerous charity events and activities across the year.”
Salford Shopping Centre Manager Nick Pitt said: “We are thrilled to be working with Salford Survivor Project. It has quickly become an inspirational organisation to so many in Salford. I’m very confident we will be hugely effective in generating much-needed funds for this very deserving charity.”
