Want it Wednesdays Competition Winners!
4th February 2016
Throughout January we ran our Want it Wednesdays social media promotion. After the expensive Christmas period, we wanted to help shoppers beat the January blues by giving something back to them.
Every Wednesday, a prize from Salford Shopping Centre’s retailers was up for grabs – all Facebook followers had to do was ‘like’ the post on our Facebook page for the chance to win. We offered a range of prizes: £50 in vouchers to spend in a choice of the centre’s stores, a £50 Blue Inc gift card, a £50 Wilko gift card and a £20 Wilko gift card.
The four Facebook posts offering the prizes earned hundreds of likes and shares. In total, the campaign reached 20,351 people on Facebook and 1,202 on Twitter, making the overall social media reach for the campaign an impressive 21,553 people. Engagement was high at 10.8%.
Week One: £50 Vouchers – Debbie Harding
Debbie Harding was our first winner and chose to have Iceland vouchers as her prize. She was presented with them at our Centre Management Office by Sam Cork. Debbie was delighted with her win and exclaimed:
“Yes! I’m buzzing! Thank you so much. They will be useful for my weekly shop.”

Week Three: £50 Wilko Gift Card – Louise Woodward-Styles
Louise Woodward-Styles won our £50 Wilko gift card. Louise is yet to collect her prize, due to various commitments, but we look forward to welcoming her to the centre to collect her winnings very soon.
